Twitter and Facebook in the Arab Revolution

In the Outlook section of this past Sunday edition of the The Washington Post (02/20/11), media observer Jeffrey Ghannam wrote the following about the recent events being called a "Facebook Revolution."
"Ironically, Facebook, which according to the Arab Social Media Report has a following of more than 21 million people in the Middle East (with 5 million in Egypt alone), is a platform not particularly friendly to protest. Its messages and updates are largely disseminated only to those who belong to certain group or who know where to look.
Twitter, by contrast, allows users to reach audiences worldwide, through the use of hastags on messages, such as the ones that defined the revolutions - #Tunisie, #Jan25, #Egypt . . ."
Flash Synchronization: Video Captions, Graphics and Cue Points

Recently, I was tasked with creating a presentation for the web that incorporated video and animation synched to the video. A few weeks later, a friend asked me about creating captions for web video. Though there's always more than one way to do anything, Flash seemed like a great solution for both of those projects.

"This eBook is a basic primer that gets you thinking - and looking at marketing in new light. It’s especially useful for those who need some basics and a little push. After reading it, a little light bulb comes on (like in the cartoons) and they say, 'I can do this.'”

Internet Down Time (and other disasters) or A Few Great Ways to Backup Your Files
I received a letter in the mail last week that actually made me gasp – out loud! It was from Cox, my internet service provider, saying that they were doing some upgrades in my neighborhood and that I may experience some internet down time this week. I feel very fortunate to have had an extremely reliable internet connection at my home office the entire time I’ve lived here, and I’m not ready for that to change.
Are you asking the questions correctly?

As engaged learners, not only should we ask right questions, but we need to also ask the question right.
This gets reinforced to me every day in my media replication sales work.
Time and again I receive a phone call or e-mail inquiry asking me how much a certain service is . . . when really the question should be phrased as, "I have this item, and in the end, I want it to be converted so that it does . . . . "
